Hi. My name is Mayme Ringis. I have been coming to Dr. Richardson's office, and Dr. Pritchard's, for many years, and I really have great confidence in both of them!
My husband and I are both having our cataracts removed on the 21st of July. Dr. Richardson gave us a great CD to listen to at home, and it's beautiful. I told him, he should go into that business because he had such a wonderful voice, and it was so relaxing and very informative. I think everybody should come to him!
When I first met him, because I had heard about him, all my friends had come to him, he walked in the door and I said, "Oh, I thought you'd be older." He laughed and I said, "Well, I've heard about you for years." He's done 2, 000 cataract surgeries, so I feel very confident when I scheduled to have mine done.
I don't know of anything else to say other than all of his help is wonderful. He has Jonathan Hall, who is just fantastic! And Ken too! They’re so patient with older folk and they really do do a good job!

Hi. My name is Linda Squibb, a patient of Dr. Richardson's. I first met him about five weeks ago. I came to him because I was experiencing some floaters in my eye, and I wanted his opinion as an ophthalmologist on the floaters. So he came in to the exam room and introduced himself, a very pleasant man. He explained what he was going to do before looking in my eyes. Indeed he found the floaters, and we discussed that. He was very pleasant, very reassuring. He recommended that I have another test done on my eyes. I was a little anxious about that, but he put me at ease by saying, “not to worry, I will call you immediately with the results. I often don't. I often let the office call in a few days, but because I detect that you're anxious, I'll mark it on your chart to give you a call right away, to ease any apprehension you might be having."
I was very appreciative of that. I thought that was very nice of him to do that. That just made a very big impression on me that he was willing to do that. So again, I just met him the one time but, he was very personable, approachable and I enjoyed our interaction, and I definitely would recommend anybody coming to him if they have any eye issues. I believe he's very well educated from what I've seen on his website, and would feel very comfortable recommending him for any eye issues or checkups that you might have.

Hello, my name is Robert. I'm a very satisfied customer! Dr. Richardson did a wonderful job on my eye. Let me tell you a little story. I've had glasses probably for the last ten years and my optometrist discovered I had high pressure in my right eye. He suggested that I seek treatment for this. Of course, being a guy I ignored it for a couple of years. It spiked a little higher, and finally I went to my mother's doctor, which happens to be Dr. Richardson. And my mother also, of course, is happy with his services.
But a long story short. We had laser surgery that brought the pressures down. It's called Argon Laser Trabeculectomy and it was painless. It was a five minute procedure, and my pressures are perfect. Well, I had a secondary problem. My right eye needed a much greater correction than my left, which I believe is called anisometropia. I've learned a lot, as you can see also, through this process.
Anyway, with some consultations with Dr. Richardson, he suggested I probably could use an intraocular lens implant and I ended up with a toric lens, which also corrected my astigmatism. Long story short, the lens was implanted and everything went well.
Three to four weeks after surgery, you go get your other glasses. My optometrist looked at the correction I had after Dr. Richardson had done, and he stopped. He paused, and he was baffled and he says, "This guy's good!" He said it three times. "This guy's good! You have almost no astigmatism. We'll call it zero. You're barely near sighted. Your eye is like perfect, and your pressures are perfect." All testimony to Dr. Richardson's skill and education, and I recommend him to anybody. Come here!
I was satisfied, and I'm sure you will be. He's professional. He's got the steadiest hands I've ever seen in a human, and when he touches your eye, it's unbelievable. He's a gifted surgeon, and I recommend you come to see Dr. Richardson.

I've been a patient with Dr. Richardson for 20 some years. I've always found the staff and Dr. Richardson to be very friendly, very professional, and very accommodating if you have to change your schedule or something. Dr. Richardson gave me two surgeries for cataracts and it opened up a whole new world for me. The surgery was very successful and everyone was friendly and helpful. I also have glaucoma and Dr. Richardson has been very faithful to keep me informed. I’ve always been nervous about that white coat syndrome, but I don’t feel that here. Everyone is great; they put you at ease and make you feel comfortable. I really appreciate the whole attitude of the staff and everything they do. So I would highly recommend Dr. Richardson and his staff to anyone. To put it shortly, I would say they are a cut above the rest.

My wife and I have been patients at the San Gabriel Va since the early '50s with Dr. Schiff, and we're very pleased that Dr. Schiff had the foresight to get Dr. Richardson on board. Dr. Richardson has operated on both of us for cataracts. We've had excellent results, the difference between night and day, from seeing things in a blurry fashion to things that are very clear. That's why we like this man.
We found that if there is a special problem, Dr. Richardson will readily refer us to a specialist for that particular problem, I find that very commendable. You find that the personnel in here are all very helpful and very amenable to us and very friendly. We find that they do give us a lot of support. Also, if there's an emergency, they will take us on, bring us in to check it out and give us the care that we need. Between the two of us, we find that this is the best place for eye care. It’s excellent!
We recommend Dr. Richardson and the San Gabriel Eye Associates to anyone that's looking for a doctor. Maybe they would do better by going to him instead of where they are going. Yes, I recommend it very highly.

I'm a patient of Drs. Richardson, and Kratz, and Pritchard. I've seen all three doctors. Dr. Kratz I saw originally, and he saw something that was in my eye that shouldn't have been. He took the time and the care to contact my family doctor, and he ran some tests and come to find out I had a blockage in the artery to my heart. So in my opinion, Dr. Kratz saved my life!
I also have glaucoma and macular degeneration. They sent me to specialists at Doheny Eye Clinic, which has taken care of it also. I went to Doheny, and the doctor there called Dr. Richardson before I even left the parking lot and decided how to go from there.
Dr. Richardson had removed my cataracts. It was very painless. I couldn't believe when I took the patch off that I could see and how bright everything was.
They are so professional. Having Anna and Jonathan there just made it perfect for me. Dr. Richardson was so caring and loving and explained everything to me step by step.
Every time I come in here, I never get treated with anything but professionalism and caring. I would recommend any of these doctors to anybody. They are the most fantastic, the office people as well. I thank them for my life and for my eyesight. Thank you.

Hi, my name is Jim Stasny. I have been coming to this office 25 years. It's been that long, so I don't recall how I was introduced to this office. But I was seeing Dr. Frank Schiff for a long time and once he retired I've been seeing both Dr. Kratz and Dr. Richardson. I've had very good experiences here with both of them.
They've been very concerned about my overall well being. They really take the extra care in remembering things about me and are very concerned about my overall well being. So I feel reassured and I just really do appreciate the care I have been receiving here.
I have a condition that's probably not going to be reversed any time soon, which is dry macular degeneration. I've been given different suggestions to try from here and from other sources and, well, it's not going to be reversed any time soon. I'm certain it is has really not gotten worse.
I was very willing to volunteer to do this testimonial. So I appreciate the opportunity. I will definitely continue to come here and recommend it to anyone else to see either one of the doctors who are both great. Thank you very much and hope this is helpful.

My name is Bob Krause. I've been seeing Dr. Richardson for several months. In the beginning my left eye was 20/70 and my right eye was 20/60 and I couldn't really see much of anything. I've had cataract surgery on both eyes and today is really a cool day. This is the first day after my right eye. My vision is 20/20. My vision in my left eye is 20/25. That's perfect!
My advice to anyone who's interested is if you've got something wrong with your eyes, this is the guy to see. Dr. Richardson is the best! He graduated first in his class at USC, Phi Beta Kappa, and he got a scholarship to Harvard Medical School and graduated at the top of his class there. So, he's really a highly thought of guy and he's a super guy, too. He's a nice as person as you're going to meet, easy to get along with, and does terrific work. He's a real talent!
Dr. Richardson has the best equipment money can buy. I saw another ophthalmologist also and his equipment was dated in comparison. I'm here today and I see perfectly fine. I'm going to drive home today and that's cool too!”

I was referred by my optometrist to the San Gabriel Valley Eye Associates. The staff is outstanding. The doctor assistants in particular have always been very impressive: professional, personable, and thorough. I like that everyone seems to be hustling and busy, especially since waiting is irritable at any doctor’s office. The billing office is very helpful also. The facilities are very nice and the location is convenient for me.
I am a glaucoma suspect, and I believe the doctors have been very proactive with my treatment. I am hopeful that I will be fortunate. Also, I appreciate that they have prepared me for what may happen in the future. I’m very confident with the recommendation of my long-time optometrist and with the service I’ve had these past few years that I am getting the best care for my condition.

My name is Richard Orozco. I've been coming to this office for over 40 years. We used to live in Monterey Park where I raised my family and all of us would come here. I credit my wife with ? she has always taken care of the medical problems, gotten the best doctors. Dr. Schiff's office was one of them. It still is. We've been very happy with our service here. The staff has been outstanding. As for doctors, couldn't ask for anything better. We think so much of this office that in 1977, we moved from Monterey Park to Orange County, and we still come here for all of our eye needs, for our checkups. We've watched the evolution of the office. Dr. Richardson has then stepped in and I didn't believe that the service could get any better than it was with Dr. Schiff, but it has. It's just excellent.
I would highly recommend this office to anyone. Dr. Richardson, Dr. Kratz and the staff have always taken the time to listen. I never felt rushed or that I was bothering anybody. I feel like a member of the family. I feel warm here; no problem. I walk in, I'm always greeted, taken care of professionally, and treated just like part of the family. I'm very happy with the service, and I know my wife and my children, my children are adults, in fact my granddaughters come here. My great granddaughter has come here. So in a nutshell, can't beat this office!
I would recommend the San Gabriel Valley Eye Associates to anyone. And I have. All my immediate and extended family comes here. We came here because my wife came here, and everyone that we recommended this office to has been very happy.
I had detached a retina, reattached using a laser by Dr. Thompson. That was many years ago. I've had macular surgery in the last two years. I had cataract surgery, I think it was this year, with Dr. Richardson. All of them have been great, successful. My left eye has been the worst eye for vision for years. When I had the cataract surgery on that eye, I couldn't believe the improvement! The day after surgery I noticed a 100 percent increase for the visibility and the use of my left eye. I've been very happy here. Before I had the cataract I had some problems with double vision out of my left eye, and so we underwent some macular surgery and that took care of that. Dr. Richardson wanted to do the cataract surgeries, and he wanted me to wait until I healed from the macular surgery. The problems are, that I were having, was dim vision. If I had to look at my left as I was driving, I had a problem, and if I drove at night, the glare was just absolutely painful, especially in my left eye. So I started to minimize the night driving every time I could. But after the cataract surgery, no problem. I couldn't believe it. I just drove at night on the freeways, and just like when I was a kid. Oh, God, it was great.
I had nothing to compare the treatment pre-op with anything else, but when I met the staff members who talked to me in the office, had me read information to understand what was going to go on and what I had to do afterwards. Absolutely first-grade service! On the day of the surgery I was treated professionally, promptly. Everyone that I had contact with took the time to tell me what they were doing and why they were doing it, whether it was from putting drops in my eyes or asking me to do whatever I had to do, I was told why. I never had to ask why I was doing something. I was made very comfortable here. I was comfortable all the way through. In the process of the surgery: I was awake. I never felt any discomfort. It was great.
The cataract CD I received prior to surgery was very informative. It explained everything! I thought that whoever prepared the CD, which was Dr. Richardson, knew what they were doing, because it was very informative. I had a great idea as to what was going to happen and why. Great idea!
A couple of years ago, I had an ischemic attack, which I guess is a mini-stroke. I was driving, and I had vision loss in my right eye for about three or four minutes. Dr. Schiff, in one of my visits, asked me how things were going and I said, "You know, I had this experience of vision loss," and he immediately told me to see my internist for an MRA. I didn't even know what an MRA was. I did, and they checked me out. I had to have surgery on my carotid artery. The doctors were absolutely stunned that I didn't end up with long-term disabilities because of the stroke. I credit Dr. Schiff for saving my life and I will never forget it!

My husband and I have been patients of this office since about 1961 when our daughter was three years old. Dr. Schiff was here then. Since then, my husband, and I, and all three of our children have stayed with this practice. Dr. Richardson is now managing my husband's glaucoma and cataracts. Dr. Pritchard prescribes our glasses, and has for many years, as well as for our children, who are now adults. We are very, very pleased with the care that we receive here. The doctors are courteous and extremely competent, and are able to answer all our questions and concerns about cataract surgery and about how my husband's glaucoma is doing. The staff here is very, very friendly, and pleasant, and also extremely helpful and knowledgeable. And we wouldn't think of going to any other ophthalmologist. My husband is a man of few words, but he feels very confident being cared for by the doctors here. And I am just so happy that we can count on them to take care of our eyes.

Hi, I'm Marjorie Johnson. I just celebrated my 93rd birthday, and I've been a patient of Dr. Richardson for 10 years, and I have had excellent care. I have had glaucoma, and I am a diabetic, which a person has to be very careful of their eyesight. I'm doing really well, and my vision is normal, which I think is a great accomplishment to keep me going. All of Dr. Richardson's staff has been very kind and very good. Dr. Richardson is a fine doctor. He is very kind, and takes good care of his patients. I'm sure if it wasn't for Dr. Richardson, my vision would not be as good as it is today, and especially at my age. I still have a license to drive my car, which I wouldn't have got otherwise. I certainly recommend him to anyone that needs help with an eye problem.

Hi, my name is Robert. I'm actually a water delivery man. I'm out in the sun all day. And unfortunately, one day, while working, I suddenly lost vision in my left eye. Never experiencing this happening to me before, I immediately went to Huntington Memorial Hospital, to the emergency room. They had quickly diagnosed me with cataracts in my left eye. I was promptly dispatched to a number of other doctors, who ultimately referred me to Dr. Richardson to have the cataract surgery performed. In the beginning, I was very concerned about what happened. But after meeting with several of the doctors, and especially after linking up with Dr. Richardson and his staff, I was promptly put to ease. I actually had gone through the surgery with Dr. Richardson, and within the next day actually, the day of the surgery, having the lens replaced I could then see 100 percent again.I know, for you out there who are probably concerned about this, like I was, I was extremely nervous and concerned, but I want to assure you, Dr. Richardson will be my exclusive eye doctor for the future. Thank you very much.

Hello, my name is Ron, and I've been coming to San Gabriel Valley Eye Associates since I was diagnosed with shingles in my right eye. I've been coming here since early November of 2009. The care that I've gotten here at San Gabriel Valley Eye Associates is far superior to any ophthalmology care that I've had in the Los Angeles area.
I have leukemia, and part of the chemotherapy drugs, zapped my optic nerves. So I suffer from low vision. I've gotten more information at this clinic about my low vision and how to cope with it than I've received from all the other ophthalmologists and neuro-ophthalmologists that I've encountered in the Los Angeles area.
So I highly recommend San Gabriel Valley Eye Associates. They helped me deal with my low vision problems and, of course, with the post shingles neuralgia of the eye, and I can't recommend them highly enough!
