Dr. Kashlan has led a busy clinical life and practice. Throughout his studies, he has continuously received outstanding achievement awards. In 1994, Dr. Kashlan moved to New York City, where he continued his training. He participated in an observation program at St. Barnabas Hospital, one of the busiest hospitals in New York City. Dr. Kashlan graduated from Medical School in 1996, passed the USMLE, and completed his first internal medicine residency at Aleppo University H In 1999, Dr. Kashlan moved to Charleston, South Carolina, where he began his postdoctoral fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). Dr. Kashlan was an essential participant in a basic research project in clinical pharmacology at MUSC. In 2001, Dr. Kashlan began a primary care residency at Unity Health System, Park Ridge Hospital (an affiliate of the University of Rochester, in Rochester, New York). In 2002, he was recognized for his achievements and received the Outstanding Internship Award from the Unity Health System Medical Residency Program. In 2003, Dr. Kashlan received a certificate of merit from the American College of Physicians (ACP) in recognition of his upstate Associates Poster Competition contribution. In 2004, Dr. Kashlan completed his second internal medicine residency, in Rochester, New York. Dr. Kashlan moved to Greenwood, Indiana in July 2004, where he served patients at a busy internal medicine practice. During the six years he spent in Indiana, Dr. Kashlan noticed a need for his innovative way of thinking about medicine. Dr. Kashlan realized that disparities in health care needs and access to resources created a need for physicians with an objective understanding of health conditions and interventions using evidence-based protocols. Dr. Kashlan hope is that evidence-based health care will help improve the level of care provided by physicians to patients. Dr. Kashlan continued his education by taking courses in public health at Indiana University. His efforts were rewarded with a significant return of prosperity and peace, and the clinical experience has enhanced his professional acumen. G Kashlan, M.D. has held many leadership positions during his career. In 2003, he served as vice president of the House Staff Association at Unity Health System. Between 2003 and 2004, Dr. Kashlan was privileged to serve as president of that body. In 2006, he became the chief of medical staff at Kindred Hospital South in Greenwood, Indiana, where he managed, mentored, and taught his staff. Dr. Kashlan served as a member of the medical executive committee and the pharmacy and nutrition committee at Kindred Hospital South. He also served as a member of the pharmacy and therapeutics committee at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis. Dr. Kashlan has now chosen to share his body of knowledge and experience with Access Health Care! Ghiath Kashlan, M.D. wanted to become a doctor so he could assist people; he believes in treating the patient as well as the disease it is essential to help the mind, body, and soul doing so will heal the symptoms. He understands his patients needs, and welcomes new patients to his practice. Dr. Kashlan enjoys every aspect of internal medicine. Dr. Kashlan has researched many topics within medicine and has expertise in myriad areas: He is certified by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) as a suboxone treatment provider; he offers his patients trigger point injections, joint injections, and performs most skin procedures; he is certified by Sleep Solutions to performed home sleep studies; he is certified by ECFMG/UMLE and ABIM, and is BCLS/ACLS certified. He is a member of the American College of Physicians (ACP) and the American Medical Association (AMA). Dr. Kashlan loves his work and strives to help his patients lead healthy and happy lives. | Publication: | Dr. Kashlan has also engaged in extensive research during his career. His study, When to Stop CPR? Validation of a Clinical Decision Rule for Survival during Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation after Cardiac Arrest was published in the Journal of General Internal Medicine, Vol. 19, Supplemental 1, April, 2004. In addition, his essay, Two Standard Troponin Assays Evaluated for Their Clinical Diagnostic Outcome was published in Clinical Chemistry, 50, No 6, A 142, 2004.
