Dr. Jeffrey Handschumacher, OD

Doctor Jeffrey Handschumacher graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry with a Doctorate in Optometry in 1998. He also attended Bowling Green State University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1994. His clinical training included internships at the Veterans Hospitals in Cleveland, OH, and Martinsburg, WV. Doctor Handschumacher completed a post-doctorate residency at the Cleveland VA Hospital where he received extensive optometry training in the areas of ocular disease and geriatrics.

Doctor Handschumacher is certified in the treatment and management of ocular disease by the International Association of Boards of Examiners in Optometry. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, and the North Carolina State Optometric Society. He has had extensive experience in diagnosing and managing eye diesase including diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration.

Doctor Handschumacher has been practicing optometry in North Carolina since 1999 and has extensive experience in primary eye care and contact lenses. He currently resides in Raleigh with his wife Shannon and son Landon.
