As a first time mother you can imagine the nervousness when I awoke at 2:00 am to find that my 18 month old son had a fever of 104.5. I called Dr. Paul Jansen's office which has been my son's pediatrician since birth. I obviously received the on call service and left my name and number for him to return my call. Upon calling me he was very irritated that I had woke him. When I explained my son's situation he rudely said "So what's your question?" I explained that I was nervous about his high fever and asked if I should take him to the emergency room. Again rudely he said "I have not evaluated your son. If you want to take him into the ER then take him." Obviously at my time of worry I was looking for a doctor to give me some sound advice but it was obvious that he was much more concerned with his sleep. Up to this point Dr. Janson had been an ok doctor. On the other hand his partner Dr. Landorf has been great. Unfortunately with them being in the same practice there is no way to only see Dr. Landorf and therefore we will definitely not be back to visit this practice. It is sad that doctors sometime forget the reasons they entered the pediatric practice.
