My experience with Dr. Thomas is excellent.  It sounds like the people here who are upset have a problem with medication and Dr. Thomas let them know that.  Sometimes the truth hurts.  Dr. Thomas spent time with me to find out why I hurt when other doctors didn't even try.

i made the decision to try a pain management clinic instead of surgery for severe back pain. Instead of exhausting all procedures available, i ended up being perscribed enoough narcotics to kill a horse. out of the 3 months i was in this program, i talked to Doctor Thomas 2 times about my pain.  Everytime i had an appointment i was seen by Dr. Thomas'techs, that all looked to be straight out of high school. None of which are even Registered nurses. They would call me back to the room ask how i felt and just threw narcotics at me. Started me off with percoset 10 mg, then next visit uped my meds to 20mg oxycontin x 2, and 20mg oxycodone 3x a day...All the techs treated me as if i was faking my injury and that i was some kind of druggy. I truly believe that i hurt myself more by attending this clinic. I took the meds as ordered and ended up having to go through 2 weeks of pure hell in order to detox my body from narcotics. This is no way to run a pain management clinic, especially when u are using such addictive drugs.

Well I totally disagree. I have had back surgery, a stroke, migraines, etc. I have no insurance, but when I did I went through all the physical therapy, nerve blocks, etc...that I could stand.
I have chronic pain, to be able to live a normal life and do all the things I want to do, I am going to have to take pain pills more than likely for the rest of my life. If I want to be in so much pain I can't function than I would choose not to take them.
If you are so unhappy that Dr. Thomas keeps you out of pain or attempts too than by all means find another Dr.
It's the same concept of people bitching about TV shows and radio programs...turn the friggin channel!!!

I agree!  The only reason I went there was my Dr recommended I try to see if he could help control the pain until I was able to have knee replacement. I have been going for 6 months and my problem is they never talk to you and explain what course of treatment they are attempting to do. I had several test done and was never told any of the results. Several of the visits I only saw the tech and wanted to know if I had enough pain medication. I donít like taking pain killer, I just suffer with the pain because I work and have to have a clear mind to perform my job. They want you to return each month just to give you more pain killers.  I can see why patients get addicted to pain killers. Yes, I have the option to not go which I have exercised that option. Just be cautious if you cancel an appointment because they will charge you a fee for canceling.

GEE, I KINDA LIKED THE LADIES THAT TALKED TO ME. THEY ASKED ME WHAT WAS GOING ON AND I TOLD THEM.
ME, I KNOW MY BODY AND PRETTY MUCH WHAT'S CAUSING THE PAIN AND I TOLD THEM.  I'M PRETTY SURE THEY TOLD THE DR. BECAUSE WHEN HE CAME IN, HE ASKED ME ABOUT MY ANSWERS TO THIER QUESTIONS.
THE TREATMENTS THE DR. GAVE ME HAVE WORKED GOING ON FOR 6 MONTHS NOW
WHEN IT COMES TO PAIN IT HELPS TO READ THE LABEL "TAKE AS NEEDED FOR PAIN" NOT BECAUSE IT GIVES YOU A BUZZ.
I'VE HAD 12 OPERATIONS, IN TRACTION FOR 8 WEEKS, 7 DIFFERENT DRS. AND SO FAR THIS DR. HAS SPENT MORE TIME WITH ME THAN 5 OF THE OTHER DRS.      I ASK QUESTIONS AND HE GIVES ME ANSWERS. I DON'T LET ANYONE DO ANYTHING TO MY BODY WITHOUT FINDING OUT WHAT THIER GOING TO DO.
IF YOU DON'T TELL THE DR. WHAT'S GOING ON OR ASK QUESTIONS THEY WON'T KNOW.
JUST ABOUT EVERY DR. I'VE BEEN TO WILL CHARGE YOU FOR A NO SHOW OR IF YOU CALL THEM 5 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT.
ASK AND YOU WILL RECEIVE AN ANSWER, MAY NOT BE THE ANSWER YOU WANT BUT AT LEAST YOU HAVE AN ANSWER.

I was seeing Dr. Thomas for over a year. I have chronic back pain. I have had 4 back surgeries, 2 neck surgeries, but with my last back surgery I caught MRSA (staph) and it is the kind that stays with you for the rest of your life. In the time that I was seeing Thomas, I seen him 2 times, the rest was his nurse and his techs. The techs were very nice, but his nurse never listened, she spoke over me, like she didn't have time to hear me.
When I first started seeing him I was told that there are a lot of different medicines that they we can try to find he right combination.
Well, they tried me on 2 different medicines, then they put me on suboxone.... I am not a drug abuser and that was how they treated me. They told me I had to go see a shrink before they would change my medicine....I didn't have an issue with seeing a shrink, I have been through a lot in these past few years with my health and I am now total disable, so I felt it would help. Anyways, my shrink sent them a letter telling them there was no indication I would abuse my medication...they still did not taake me off the suboxone. I wanted off of it because my insurance did not cover it and I have little to no income.
After they got the letter and would not change my medicne, I was very upset and basically called them out.
They sent me a letter the next week telling me they wold no longer treat me.
I need the pain medication to function everyday, without medicine, I can't walk, stand....I can't be some what normal due to the pain.
I would never recommend anybody to see Dr. Ty Thomas!!!!!!
